Deadlines are generally April for establishing eligibility and August for preparing and submitting a proposal. For further information and to see current and past Branner Fellows, visit the Branner Traveling Fellowship webpage. Judith Lee Stronach Undergraduate Travel Scholarships The Stronach travel scholarships are open to undergraduates at the College of Environmental Design and are meant to encourage the study of new places, cultures and peoples, as well as commitment to social responsibility, within the context of a formal study abroad program. Application deadline is generally in March. For more information, visit the Judith Lee Stronach Undergraduate Travel Scholarships website. Berkeley Prize for Architectural Design Excellence The Berkeley Prize competition, established in 1998 with a generous gift from Judith Lee Stronach to the Department of Architecture at UC Berkeley, aims to impress upon architects-in-training that the smallest act of building has global implications: that design can and does play a major role in the social, cultural, and psychological life of both the individual and society at large. The endowment sponsors an essay prize competition leading to two fellowship competitions — a travel fellowship and an architectural design fellowship, with a total of $9,500 awarded in prize money. Students enrolled in any undergraduate architecture program throughout the world may submit an entry. Deadlines are generally November for the essay competition and February for the travel and design fellowships. See the Berkeley Prize website for more information. |
