Building Science at UC Berkeley: Research
Workplace Productivity Database Clifford Federspiel, Research
Specialist, Center for the Built Environment Sponsor: NIST
The University of California at Berkeley is providing assistance to NIST with the development of a comprehensive, online, searchable database of research on the correlation between the physical indoor environment and workplace productivity. This assistance entails the review, abstracting, and, as necessary, follow-ups with authors of relevant research papers. For the purposes of this effort, the physical indoor environment encompasses thermal, lighting, acoustics (including vibration), and air quality factors as well as characteristics of the physical design. This work should enable further research, development, and implementation, and in due course of time create a central repository of IEQ-related research that can be used by everyone interested in this field.
