Collection Highlights - Turkey

Ishak Pasa Palace (Kurdish fortress):  Outside Dogubayazit. Approximately, 60 slides of this spectacular and remote 17th century palace built on a plateau at 6000' elevation overlooking the mountains at Ararat.


     

     

Seljuk Mosque and Hospital, Divrigi:  Approximately 200 slides of this magnificently carved Seljuk complex. Also approximately 50 slides of vernacular domestic architecture in Divrigi, known for wood framing techniques.

Also, approximately 3600 slides of major architectural sites, urban areas, rural and vernacular architecture from the Aegean coast to the Kurdish cities in eastern Turkey, the Black Sea south through Anatolia. Stump appeared to cover every inch of Turkey!
