| Brief: This case study investigates
lighting conditions at Uris Library. The librarys function as a study place led the
team to explore lighting as a major component of both the quality of space and perceptual
comfort. The team was motivated to document how current lighting conditions could be
improved to make the environment of Uris more conducive to studying, as well as to make it
more comfortable. The nvestigation was limited to the areas popularly known as the 'Cocktail Lounge' and the 'Fishbowl,' two major reading rooms in Uris Library. The team was concerned primarily with lighting conditions at the desks of both rooms, where light sources were markedly different. |
