Case Study Style Guide: Body Formatting (continued)
Page sections, subsections, headings, and subheadings
Divide your page into logical sections and subsections, and then use headings and
subheadings to label these accordingly. Use single-point horizontal rules to separate each
section and subsection.
At the beginning of a section, place a single-point horizontal rule to signal its
beginning. If you are going to name this section for reference from other parts of the
page or site, place the NAME tag before the rule. This way, when a user jumps to this name
they will see the careful spacing you have created and not just the section heading at the
very top of the window. Place a <BR> tag between the rule and the section heading.
Place the section heading next. Format this text as bold only. Place a <BR> tag
after the text, and another <BR> tag on the next line to separate the section
heading from the beginning of the text or initial image in the section. The following
example shows how to format section headings.

<A NAME="BasicElements"></A><HR>
<BR>
<B>Basic Elements</B><BR>
<BR>

For subsection headings, all of the same design principles apply with one small
difference. Instead of formatting the subsection heading text with bold, use italics only.
This example shows how to format subheadings.

<HR>
<BR>
<I>Sunspace</I><BR>
<BR>
